The Bahraini regime to establish a militia fearing a new uprising

The Bahraini regime plans to establish a militia to protect it from a new popular uprising, with security readings indicating a growing state of discontent among Bahraini society segments due to repression policies poor economic conditions.

Security sources revealed Bahraini Lakes, who asked to be anonymous for security reasons, that the security forces would be limited to citizens who belong to families known for their intense loyalty to the Bahraini regime.

And at the beginning of the new year, thousands of Bahrainis participated in popular rallies within the “Coming, Sitra – 6” event called for by the February 14 Youth Coalition.

On the first day of January 2021, the marches took place to confirm the continuation of the popular movement demanding political reforms and more democracy.

The participants vowed to escalate the protests until the regime is forced to respond to their demands.

Security checks

According to the security sources, the job applicants will undergo a close and tight security check.

They added that no opponent or activist against the regime’s policies would be allowed to be in the ranks of that force.

In this context, the so-called “General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force,” announced the start of the first phase of opening the door for civilians to volunteer to join the reserve force.

The progress was restricted to workers and retirees’ relatives in the Bahrain Defense Force and the National Guard (military and civilians).

And it stipulated that the applicant be between the age of 18 years and not more than 55 years old.

The sources cautioned that the applicant must be of good conduct and not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanour that violates honour or trust.

According to security sources, the last condition means excluding thousands of citizens, especially youth who are counted on the Shiite community, which represents the majority of the population in Bahrain.

Anxiety and anticipation

Last Thursday, the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, issued a decision to promote 693 officers and non-commissioned officers, individuals and civilians of the National Guard.

Private sources told Bahraini Leaks that these promotions aim to increase the National Guard’s loyalty to him.

This coincided with the escalation of internal and external risks that threaten the Khilafid regime’s survival in power in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Popular anger is escalating due to the rampant corruption of the ruling family and overcrowding in its prisons with thousands of political prisoners and detainees for opinion and expression.

The sources explained that these promotions also coincide with Bahraini calls to demonstrate against this system, due to widespread unemployment and the dismissal of Bahraini employees in favor of foreigners.

And they emphasized that the regime’s going to normalize relations with Israel constituted the final nail in its coffin.

As the Bahraini people categorically reject any peace agreement with Israel, the brother Palestinian people will pay.

On February 14, 2011, Bahrain witnessed widespread demand and human rights protests at the Pearl Roundabout.

And the regime’s security authorities suppressed these protests with live ammunition, and hundreds of victims were killed and wounded.
